2014 FBRA / Road Florida Ranking System
The Florida Bicycle Racing Association, USA Cycling’s local association in Florida, is proud to announce the return of the Florida Ranking System in 2014. The Florida Ranking System will allow racers to rank themselves against other riders in the state within each category, as well as total team rankings. The FRS is designed to assist riders and teams during sponsorship acquisition as well as give riders a USAC/FBRA ranking to keep the spirit of the sport alive from January to October. Similar to USAC’s national rankings, this lets you see where you rank after all your hard work. The rankings system will be administered using a newly formed competition ranking module developed by USA Cycling in cooperation with the FBRA for use by all local associations across the country.
2014 FRS Categories
- Junior 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18 male
- Junior 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18 female
- Men Pro, 1, 2
- Men 3
- Men 4
- Men 5
- Women Pro, 1, 2
- Women 3
- Women 4
- Men Master 35+ cat 1, 2, 3
- Men Master 35+ cat 4, 5
- Men Master 50+ all categories
- Men Master 60+ all categories
FRS Race Promoter Requirements
- Any promoter that meets the following criteria may participate with their Florida event in the FRS
- USA Cycling permitted event category D or higher event in compliance with USAC rankings
- Event category D or higher events have at least one category with a payout purse of $500 or greater.
- Events must follow the 2014 FRS categories for consistent ranking
- Events must display the FRS logo on their flyer for rider awareness.
- There are no promoter fees to have events included
- Promoters are not required but are encouraged to hold all categories
- Finish scoring must include all riders participating
- Results should be submitted to USA Cycling within 48 hours of the finish of the event for all FRS categories, with junior male and female separate for all 5 age brackets. Results must be submitted in the USAC prescribed format for the competition reporting module with correct team name. The FBRA will provide promoters with this format developed by USAC and assist with the results submission. .
- Participating events will be listed on the FBRA Calendar under the orange tab FRS Road
FRS Individual Rankings
- Riders will accumulate points for their 15 highest points finishes
- Riders must have current USA Cycling racing license
- Receive listing support, e-mail marketing, as currently provided by the FBRA
- 35 FRS ranking points for Road Race and Criterium
- 25 FRS ranking points for Time Trial
- Individual trophies 3 deep in each FRS category will be awarded after the last FRS race of the season
Stage Races
- Held as timed or points format stage event, minimum 3 stages

- Individual stage 35 FRS points Road Race and Crit, 25 for Time Trials
- Overall stage 35 FRS points
State Championships
- Included in the FBRA FRS Rankings
- 40 FRS points for Road Race and Crit, 30 FRS points for Time Trial
FRS Team Rankings
- Categories same as FRS categories
- Team trophies for top finishing team in each category
- Team must be a USA Cycling licensed team to participate in the team competition
- There will be 2 junior team awards: 9-14 combined and 15-18 combined
- Accumulate only from the top 3 riders placing for each team in a race
- Riders will accumulate points for a team only if the rider is registered with the team as per their USA Cycling license. If a rider changes teams during the season, the team points a rider has earned up to that point do not transfer to the new team.
- Points will apply from the team’s top 15 finishes in events
Other
- Any ties in either team or individual rankings will be decided by the highest number of first place finishes. If this does not resolve the tie, then it will be decided by the highest number of second place finishes, etc.
- Plaques will be distributed after the last FRS race of the season
